The Center for Human Development (CHD) was founded in 1972 on a philosophy of helping people in the community, a major departure from the prevailing system of placing people in institutions. Over thirty-five years later, the dedicated staff of CHD are still on the road, providing vital support to needy children, people with psychiatric and developmental disabilities, the elderly and the homeless.
