| | | | Capt John A. Kasparian | Dear Reminder Publications,
Hello from Iraq! One thing I miss about East Longmeadow comes from the fact that at the beginning of every week, I have no The Reminder. Last year, I began serving my Marine Corps reserve duty in Buffalo, NY. We then got the call from our country. I packed away my suit, and put on a set of digital camouflaged uniforms and deployed to Iraq. We begin Operation Iraqi Freedom III. This time in Iraq history after the elections remains such a critical time. We want to live to the standards other Marines, as well as other service people have done so far.
My unit 3/25 has over 1000 Marines from all over the US. We have gotten to Iraq and now serve at Camp Hadithah based in the Haditha Dam, on the Euphrates River. It's in the Sunni Triangle. Our deployment is slated for the standard USMC 7 months. Our predecessors, 1/23 had a web site adopt them. As I sat thinking of who might want to adopt us and hear our story, The Reminder came to mind, I was excited. Chris Buendo informed me that a NEWLY designed web site was slated for April. 3/25 will make a great addition!
My job here as the Battalion Adjutant, equivalent to Vice President of Administration, keeps me busy. We give out awards, handle the mail (VERY IMPORTANT), and above all report to the commanding officer our strength at any given time. We have over 1000 Marines and many different places conducting operations all day and all night. My staff does amazing things to keep track of the Marines.
We appreciate the support we get from home. And we want to show our families and friends back home what we do everyday. We laugh, cry, fight, and few days every now and then, REST! Most of the time we try to do the job we have trained to do and honor our country with performing as expected as Marines. We have many old Marines watching us, giving us wise wink and nod of their heads. Thanks Reminder Publications for adopting 3/25 and in spirit, serving here with us.
Semper Fi, Capt John A. Kasparian
