A Car Full of Toys
"Daddy! Daddy! Can't you see!
A car full of toys just for me!"
His Dad slapped him on the head.
"Shut up!" is what he said.
The sister got into the car without a word.
That's when I couldn't believe what I'd heard.
My heart felt so very sad.
It also made me awfully mad!
The little child inside me began to cry,
so I took out two toys, for I did love to try
to show these little angels that God does see
all the goodness there is to be.
Then I went back to my car without a word.
I still couldn't believe what I had heard.
Then I heard what the little boy did say:
"Do you think God sent an angel our way?"
His sister answered him with joy:
"Yes, I think so, my little boy."
So on they went with a smiling face,
without a word or look of disgrace.
