What My Child Said
What My Child Said
"Don't you love me?" is what my child said.
"Of course I do!" - then kissing his head.
"Then why do you yell at me so?"
I answered, "I really don't know!"
"Why can't you say 'I love you' back?
Is it because love is what you lack?"
Children learn what they are told,
and deserve our gratitude when they are bold.
So when they try to do their best,
let your loving spirit do the rest.
