Falcons announce preseason games versus Hartford, Providence

SPRINGFIELD – The Springfield Falcons announced three preseason contests before the start of the 2014-15 regular season.

The Falcons are scheduled to face the Providence Bruins twice and take on the Hartford Wolf Pack once during exhibition play.

The Falcons will travel to face the Bruins Oct. 3 and will return home for a rematch at 7 p.m. on Oct. 4. The preseason finale will pair Springfield against Hartford at the MassMutual Center Oct. 5 at 3 p.m.

Tickets for the preseason games will go on sale at the MassMutual Center box office and ticketmaster.com in September. Tickets for all levels will be $10 and are available on a first come, first serve basis.

The Falcons regular season is set to begin in October with the home opener scheduled for Oct. 18 at 7 p.m.

Ticket packages for the 2014-15 season are on sale now. The Columbus Blue Jackets signed forward Jerry D’Amigo to a one-year, two-way (NHL/AHL) contract, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced recently. As is club policy, terms were not disclosed.

D’Amigo, 23, was acquired by Columbus along with a conditional seventh round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for forward Matt Frattin on July 1. He appeared in 22 games with Toronto last season, making his National Hockey League debut on Dec. 5, 2013 against the Dallas Stars.

He recorded one goal and two assists for three points and 12 shots on goal with the Maple Leafs and tallied 17-12-29, 17 penalty minutes and a +7 plus/minus rating in 70 appearances with the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies.
