SPRINGFIELD -- The American International College (AIC) field hockey team is ranked 10th in the latest Kookaburra/NFHCA Division II Coaches' Poll, announced by NFHCA Executive Director Jennifer Goodrich. This marks the first time in program history that the Yellow Jackets are ranked in the coaches' poll.
AIC, which started playing field hockey in 1996, is 11-6 this season and 6-2 in the Northeast-10 following a 2-1 victory at Bentley University. The 11 overall wins and six conference wins are both program records.
The Yellow Jackets have also secured their first-ever berth in the Northeast-10 Championship Tournament and have secured the first winning season in program history under first-year head coach Stacey Blue.
