Click's terrific effort thwarted

CHICOPEE — Anna Maria College's Anthony Click of Springfield turned in a terrific all-around performance, pouring in a game-high 23 points and added a tie for the game-high in rebounds with 10, but third-seeded Elms College snuck away with a heart-stopping 66-64 victory in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship tournament quarterfinals.

He also added four assists, five blocked shots, three steals and was 4-of-5 shooting from the free throw line.

Madera competes at ECACS

NEW YORK CITY — WSU's Zach Madera of Southwick placed 17th in the preliminaries of the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.08, just shy of his school record dash of 7.05 earlier this season at the ECAC Division III indoor track and field championships at The Armory in New York City on March 2 and 3.

Guenther nets first marker

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. — The American International College men's lacrosse team's freshman attacker Zak Guenther of South Hadley scored the first goal of his collegiate career, but sixth-ranked New York Institute of Technology opened the game with a 7-0 run and led 10-1 at the half on its way to a 14-7 non-conference won over the Yellow Jackets on Feb. 29.
