WESTFIELD -- The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League (AHL), teamed up with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 7 and Amelia Park Ice Arena to make a special food donation to the Westfield Food Pantry on Aug. 26.
Falcons mascot, "Screech," along with members of the IBEW and Westfield Food Pantry representative, Rebecca Hart, took part in the ceremony.
Following this special delivery, the Falcons played the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 7 in a ball hockey game at the outdoor rink at Amelia Park in Westfield.
The Falcons have been accepting donations of non-perishable food items during the summer at previous ball hockey games, while the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 7 have also been executing their own food drive this summer.
The Falcons continue to offer a variety of affordable season ticket packages for the 2010-2011 campaign. Ticket plans range from all 40 home games to a selection of mini plans including 22 and 12 game plans.
The Falcons also offer Flex Packs in denominations of 40 games and 10 games. For more information, call the Falcons office at 739-3344.
