Falcons to host special guest
SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Falcons will welcome former professional boxer and Lowell native "Irish" Micky Ward to be a special guest at their home game on March 5. Ward was recently featured in the movie, "The Fighter," starring Mark Wahlberg. Ward will be dropping the ceremonial first puck when the Falcons host the Connecticut Whale, as well as signing autographs for fans during the intermission.

Ward is well known for his historical fights with Arturo Gatti, including a battle that gained widespread fame on May 20, 2002.
