Foley leads team to victory in major hockey showcase

GREATER SPRINGFIELD — Cathedral High School Hockey Coach Brian Foley put together an excellent blend of talent to win the 38th Annual Major Showcase Tournament, Hockey Night in Boston.

The five-day tournament consisted of 20 teams from the Greater Boston area, teams from the Great Lakes and Midwest, South Florida, Central and Western Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania and more. This is considered one of the premier showcase tournaments in the country attracting both college and NHL scouts.

The CHS team consisted of current Cathedral players Peter Crinella, DJ Petruzzelli, Dominic Blad, Matt Foley, Jack Williams, Artie Potter and John Liquori. There were also a number of "Cathedral connected" players on the team including former players Mickey Foley (Choate), Brendan Ashe (Avon Old Farms), Cullen Geary (Deerfield) as well as sons of former Cathedral players now playing hockey at other schools as well as other "Cathedral connected" players.
