Gallo attends NCAA careers forum

July 3, 2013
INDIANAPOLIS – Springfield College's Kelly Gallo, a Westfield native, recently joined nearly 300 Division I, II and III athletes at the NCAA's annual forum on careers in intercollegiate athletics in Indianapolis June 8 to 11.

A committee of administrators from member institutions, conference offices, and affiliate member organizations selected Gallo for the Career in Sports Forum.

Gallo has been a two-sport star for the Pride since she arrived on campus in 2010. Earning all-conference honors in both field hockey and women's lacrosse in her career, she was selected as the Springfield Female Multi-Sport Athlete of the Year earlier this spring.

The forum included sessions on skills sets needed to perform at the highest level; nontraditional careers in athletics; best practices in athletics administration; personal and professional branding; resources for applying to graduate school; and human resource hiring processes.

In addition, the student-athletes engaged in dialogue with senior administrators from the NCAA national office and had a formal networking dinner with NCAA administrators.
