Hockey players DiFranco and Foley honored at Bessone Banquet

EAST LONGMEADOW The annual Amo Bessone Award Banquet took place May 4 at the Dante Club in West Springfield. Numerous awards were handed out to top Western Massachusetts high school hockey players. East Longmeadow High School junior Kyle DiFranco and senior captain Evan Foley were honored for a second year in a row as first team members of the Coaches All-Division Team (Berry Division) and the All Scholastic Team (All Western Mass).

DiFranco was further honored as the Berry Divisions Top Scorer. Foley was the runner up for the Bessone award, which is given to the area's top hockey player.

Both players surpassed 100 career points this year and were first and second in the league in scoring. DiFranco, the ELHS team MVP, has been named captain of next year's team. Foley intends to play hockey at Western New England College.
