This President's Day Weekend, the Longmeadow Sixth Grade Boys Suburban Basketball Team participated in the 12th Annual New England Shootout at the Mansfield SportsPlex in Mansfield, Mass. Teams from all over New England competed in the two-day tournament. The Longmeadow squad defeated Hamden, Conn., Hopkinton, Mass., and Groton-Dunstable to advance to the championship game. Longmeadow finished in second place as they bowed to a very talented team from New Bedford in the finals.
