MacLeod set to 'go down in history' |
|
Bucknell University senior Kevin MacLeod of East Longmeadow, one of Bucknell's men's track and field team's top hurdlers, received a special award at the university's annual Senior Athletic Awards Banquet, sponsored by the Bison Club and held in the Terrace Room on April 28.
MacLeod won the Alvin F. Jackson Jr. Memorial Scholar-Athlete Award, presented to senior atheletes for outstanding academic and athletic achievement and future promise as Bucknell alumni. MacLeod shared the award with Gillian Norquist of the women's track and field and cross county teams, who was the female selection.
MacLeod will go down in Bucknell track and field history as one of its premier hurdlers and sprinters, as he is the school record holder in 400-meter hurdles outdoors (51.87 seconds) and three relay teams indoors. He is present on Bucknell's all-time performance lists a total of 16 times.
As a two-time Patriot League Champion in the 400 hurdles, MacLeod has also competed at the NCAA Regional meet on two occasions.
