Meddowe BBC wins rousing game against foes

The first match was an 1886 contest which went to the Simsbury Taverneers with a final tally of 4 aces to 2 as the Taverneer hurler was able to contain the vaunted Meddowe offense forcing many daisy cutters and scrapers.

The second match featured an 1864 contest in which many of the Meddowe strikers regained their ginger, especially Paul "Slow Train" Sheehan, who was able to leg it on a well-struck ball out to the garden for a key two-bagger as the Meddowe Ballists remain undefeated in 1860s matches. The final tally was 8 aces to 4.

The Meddowe Vintage Base Ball Club is now 6-1 on the early season as they hosted the Hartford Dark Blues on June 22 at Forest Park.

Meddowe will then return to home action on July 13 versus the Whately Pioneers with the site soon to be determined.
