Mutiny to take on Tide and breast cancer

The New England Mutiny plays the Maine Tide on June 28 at 7 p.m. at Agawam High School in a Women's Premier Soccer League match. It will be "Breast Cancer Awareness Night" at the game as the Mutiny have partnered with Baystate Hospital's Rays of Hope Foundation.

Rays of Hope raises funds for research of a cure for breast cancer and provides services for breast cancer patients. In an effort to support breast cancer awareness the Mutiny will forego wearing their usual white uniforms for commemorative pink jerseys. The pink jerseys will be auctioned off after the match with the proceeds going to the foundation.

The New England Mutiny is striving for its fifth Eastern Conference Championship in the WPSL, a 50-team national league for women. The 2007 WPSL National Finalists are currently 5-1. This will be the second meeting between the Mutiny and the Tide. The Mutiny won the first match in Bangor, Maine, by a 1-0 score.

The Mutiny encourages everyone to wear pink that evening and come out show your support. For more information on the New England Mutiny, visit www.mutinysoccer.com.
