New England Mutiny to call East Longmeadow home

May 7, 2012

EAST LONGMEADOW — The New England Mutiny, which will be celebrating its 10th season, will play six home games at East Longmeadow High School's new turf stadium.

"In 2006 we played a showcase match in East Longmeadow and we were very well received by the community. At the time, the facility did not meet league standards, but that has all changed now with the construction of the turf field and I am ecstatic to call East Longmeadow our home for 2012," Mutiny owner Joe Ferrara said. "The support that we have received from the town, Parks and [Recreation], youth soccer association and business community is so greatly appreciated."

The season opener for the Mutiny is May 12 at 7 p.m. at East Longmeadow High School against the New York Fury.

The team will also have its share of veteran talent including Longmeadow native and Boston College star Kate McCarthy and long-time Mutiny member Jenny Maurer will also suit up for the Mutiny this summer. Maurer, who has played in every season of the Mutiny's existence, starred for East Longmeadow High School from 1999 to 2002. This past fall as the coach of East Longmeadow High School girl's soccer team, Maurer led the squad to a Western Massachusetts title- it's first title since she led them as a player in 2002.

Fans can now purchase their 2012 Mutiny season tickets on the "Tickets" page on the team's official website at www.MutinySoccer.com at a cost of $45 for adults and $25 for children. Ticket options include a limited number of field level seats at $75 each.

Individual game tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youth. Fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets online as there has been a heightened interest locally and seats are limited at the new venue.
