Pratt joins Falcons coaches

SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League, announced on Aug. 2 that Nolan Pratt has been hired as an assistant coach for the Falcons by Springfield’s National Hockey League (NHL) affiliate, the Columbus Blue Jackets. Pratt joins the Falcons coaching staff, where he will work with Head Coach Rob Riley and returning Assistant Coach Brad Larsen, following a 14-year playing career as a defenseman that included 11 NHL seasons.

Hartford’s fifth pick, 115th overall in the 1993 Entry Draft, he registered 9-56-65 and 537 penalty minutes in 592 career NHL games. He helped the Tampa Bay Lightning win the Stanley Cup championship in 2003-04. Pratt started his pro playing career with the Springfield Falcons during the 1995-96 campaign where he helped the Falcons earn a Northern Division champion-ship that season. Pratt returned to the Falcons for the 1996-97 campaign as well helping Springfield reach the Calder Cup semifinal round.
