Robar earns lacrosse Scholar All-American honor

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. Skidmore College senior Kevin Robar of East Longmeadow was named to the 2008 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Scholar All-American team.

The long stick midfielder was a 2008 Liberty League Second-Team All-Star and a three-time Liberty League All-Academic selection.

"After a season-ending injury in 2006, Kevin worked hard to come back in 2007 and then post his best individual season this year," head coach Jack Sandler said. "He had the tough task of limiting the opposing team's top dodger and was never intimidated by the challenge."

Robar scored a goal and had one assist. He also 34 ground balls, including a season-high six in an 8-7 loss to Liberty League champion St. Lawrence University.

An economics management and business double major, Robar helped Skidmore hold opponents to 9.37 goals per game. The Thoroughbreds finished 7-7 with three one-goal losses.
