Talmadge, Buckley make all-NECC academic team |

ATTLEBORO Wilbraham natives Carolyn Talmadge and Sarah Buckley were two of 18 Elms College winter and spring student athletes who were named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) All-Academic as recently announced by the conference.
Talmadge, a senior, and Buckley, a junior, were both part of the college's nursing program.
A total of 87 student athletes around the league have been named NECC All-Academic for the 2012 spring semester.
To be eligible for the academic all-conference team, a student athlete must post a minimum grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.0 and must be a sophomore or higher in class standings. Student athletes who competed in men's and women's basketball, men's volleyball, baseball, softball and men's tennis were eligible for spring NECC academic honors.
Beaulieu lifts Post 52 to victory
LUDLOW Cam Beaulieu carried Ludlow Post 52 to a 5-2 victory over East Longmeadow Post 293 in American Legion Baseball action on June 28.
Beaulieu earned the win on the mound, while helping his cause at the plate with three hits, including two doubles. Kevin Borowiec also had two hits for Post 52.
Solo home runs by Matt O'Neil and Steve Moyers represented two of Post 293's three hits and all of their scoring.
