Team prepares for January relays

The Bucknell track and field team was honored with three of the first Patriot League weekly awards for the 2007-08 indoor season, the league announced on Dec. 11. Junior Kevin MacLeod (East Longmeadow) earned Patriot League Track Athlete of the Week honors and sophomore Kyle Anthony (Barryville, NY) was named Field Athlete of the Week for the men, while freshman Rebecca Frey (Bethlehem, PA) captured Rookie of the Week honors for the women.

In the first meet of the season, the Bison Opener on Dec. 1, MacLeod set a new school record in the preliminaries for the 60-meter hurdles. He ran a time of 8.34 seconds, surpassing his own record of 8.36, set last season. MacLeod placed third out of 29 athletes in the prelim for the event.

The Bucknell track and field teams are now set to prepare for the Gulden Relays on Jan. 12 in Lewisburg, PA.
