Titans Crowned

The Springfield Titans-Carhart swept the Triple Crown Sports Early Frost Tournament in Hudson Valley, N.Y., going 4-0 and outscoring their opponents by a combined 45-9.

Solid defense, strong pitching and hard hitting proved a winning combination as the Titans rolled over four New York teams, winning the championship game over the Putnam Dutchess Diamondbacks 12-4.

Western Massachusetts was well represented by: Troy Carhart, Steve Fleury, Michael Karam and Drew Berg, all of Wilbraham; Nick Shea and Peter Crinella of East Longmeadow; Brett Layman of Ludlow; Kevin Hassett and Ray Sullivan of Springfield; Michael Wroth and Travis Seymour of Chicopee; Brady Collins of West Springfield; Chris Giotoninni of Enfield, Conn.; Connor McCarthy of Longmeadow; and Aaron Reed of Holyoke.
