Volleyball Hall of Fame presents the Women's Invitational

HOLYOKE The Volleyball Hall of Fame invites all to witness the two day tournament of top Division III women's volleyball programs from around the northeast Oct. 23 and 24.

The Women's Invitational is the second event of "Volleyball Month" (October) leading up to the 2009 Induction ceremony. Mount Holyoke College and Smith College are hosting the invitational starting on Oct. 23 at 5 p.m. at both sites. Play continues Oct. 24, beginning at 10 a.m. For more information about schedules, times and which teams are playing at each site, visit the Volleyball Hall of Fame Web site at www.volleyhall.org.

The teams participating are Amherst, Bowdoin, Brandeis, Bridgewater State, Colby, Gordon, Middlebury, MIT, Mount Holyoke, Smith, Springfield, Tufts, Wellesley, Westfield State, Wheaton and Williams colleges.

Dig Pink and the Volleyball Hall of Fame are coming together at this tournament to "BLOCK Breast Cancer." Representatives of Dig Pink will be at the tournament as part of the effort to raise dollars throughout October for breast cancer research. The Volleyball Hall of Fame is working to help raise funds, donate online or at the tournament to help the cause.

This event was made possible due to the generosity of many sponsors. These include Molten, Mass Sports Partnership and The Valley Advocate. The Volleyball Hall of Fame would like to thank those sponsors and invite everyone to attend this year's Women's Invitational and help the fight against breast cancer.

The Volleyball Hall of Fame invites everyone to the final event of "Volleyball Month," the 2009 Enshrinement Celebration Reception and Dinner at the Log Cabin Banquet and Meeting House in Holyoke starting at 6 p.m. There will be six new inductees entering the hall joining other volleyball legends.
