WNEC women's tennis serves up another successful season |

The Western New England College women's tennis team enjoyed another successful season on the courts as the Golden Bears posted their tenth consecutive winning season with a 10-6 overall record and tied for fourth in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) at 6-4.
In the conference tournament, sixth-seed WNEC upset third-seed Salve Regina in the opening round before falling to second-seed Endicott in the semifinals.
Agawam High School 2008 graduates Nicole DeSimone and Christina Barbarisi were big contributors to the squad as DeSimone received an honorable mention on the All-Conference singles squad as she posted a 6-5 record at the No. 2 flight and Barbarisi posted a 10-2 overall record in No. 6 singles with a 6-2 mark in conference action.
DeSimone, a Sport Management major, also played in the team's top doubles position with junior Kristen Ayers (Acton, Mass.). At Agawam, she served as team captain her senior year.
Barbarisi, a Biology major, was named to the Division 1 All-Scholastic and All-Academic teams at AHS.
DeSimone is the daughter of Robert and Connie DeSimone and Barbarisi is the daughter of Tony and Diane Barbarisi, both of Feeding Hills.
