Zoo hosts celebrity bartending event

SPRINGFIELD — The Forest Park Zoo hosted a celebrity bartending event at the Student Prince Cafe & Fort Restaurant on March 25 for the Zoo’s 125th Anniversary where every dollar left as a tip directly supported the 170 animals that call the Zoo their home. Local celebrities who served drinks included Chairman & Vice President of Peter Pan Bus Lines Peter and Melissa Picknelly, state Rep. Carlos Gonzales, President of Chikmedia Meghan Rothschild, President of MGM Springfield Michael Mathis, Vice President of Government Relations at Baystate Health Mike Knapik, CEO/President of NAI Plotkin & Forest Park Zoo Board Member Evan Plotkin, President of the Springfield Thunderbirds Nate Costa, Vice President of EDC of Western Mass Ann Burke, Chief Executive Officer of Valley Venture Mentors Kristin Leutz, Broker &?Owner of Rovithis Realty Steven Rovithis as well as Reminder Publishing’s own Managing Editor, G. Michael Dobbs, pictured above. In addition, Danny New, host and producer of Mass Appeal for WWLP 22 News & CW Springfield emcee’d the event.
