Amherst honors men and women who served

AMHERST – The town of Amherst hosted its annual Veterans Day program at the North Common flag pole on Nov. 11. The event included an invocation by Anita Morris, chaplain, United States Air Force (retired) and reverend of All My God Ministries and a performance of the national anthem by members of the chorale and Hurricane Singers from Amherst-Pelham Regional High School. Town Manager Paul Bockelman, Town Council President Lynn Greisemer, state Rep. Mindy Domb, Veterans Services Director Steven Connor and Amherst resident Victor Nunez of the Veterans Affairs of Central and Western Massachusetts Healthcare System were among the speakers.
