HOLYOKE – On Dec. 17, Maureen Sullivan Media officially launched its website, www.maureensullivanmedia.com.

“The website showcases the services that Maureen Sullivan Media offers – marketing, media relations, custom content, and events that help businesses create and build their brands,” said President and Chief Creative Officer Maureen Sullivan. “The website also tells my story, including my marketing background and experience. The website also gives me a home for my blog, where I write about media, marketing, creativity, and life.”

She continued, “I knew that I needed website, but I was busy with client work. It was just something that seemed to get put on the back burner. When the pandemic hit and some of my event work was cancelled or postponed, I had the time to dive in and develop the content for the website.”

“I wanted the website design to be very clean and easy to navigate. I worked with Bill Cole of Tiger Web Designs in Somers, CT – he developed a custom website that achieved my goals – and I’ll continue to work with him as the business and the website evolve.”

Born and raised in Holyoke, Sullivan was a big reader as a child. She recalled one of her earliest memories when she was in the second grade and had to write a poem in class. The teacher was very impressed by her writing and told Sullivan’s parents she had writing skills. At Holyoke High, Sullivan wrote for the school newspaper.

She received an associate’s degree from Holyoke Community College and a bachelor’s degree in journalism and communications from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Sullivan worked at the Transcript-Telegram, which was once Holyoke’s daily newspaper, the Hartford Courant and most recently The Republican. As marketing director at The Republican, she created the popular Girls Just Wanna Have Fun events and magazine.

After a marketing career that spanned three newspapers. Sullivan founded Maureen Sullivan Media in 2014.

She explained, “At the end of 2013, the Republican offered buyouts and I decided that if I was ever going to take the leap and start my own business, it was then. I wanted to use my writing skills, creativity and events background for a variety of clients.”

Sullivan’s role entails with meeting with clients, developing creative approaches and overseeing all marketing projects. She works with team of writers, graphic designers and event production vendors.

“In 2021, I want to expand our client base throughout New England – with a focus on lifestyle marketing and custom publications, including digital and print newsletters for clients,” said Sullivan. “I believe print still has a place and a lot of companies can stand out by doing some print work in a world that’s so digitally-driven.”

She went on to say, “I’m looking forward to being able to meet in-person with clients again. I will be blogging regularly in 2021 and working on an idea for a lifestyle newsletter. I am looking forward to writing the blog. It’s been a while since I was writing my ‘Up Front’ column in the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” magazine in The Republican and the blog will be a way to engage with readers.”
