LONGMEADOW – Town resident, Springfield Pics coach, actor and author Jeff Londraville recently released his new book, “Your Path To Clarity.” Reminder Publications conducted a question and answer interview with Londraville to learn about him as a person as well as the ins and outs of “Your Path To Clarity.” The following is an edited interview.

Reminder Publications: Tell me a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and what you enjoy doing in your free time.

Londraville: Spending time with my family and friends is what I love to do. I have loved and played hockey my entire life and even played for Team USA. I love to speak in front of many different crowds and have spoken all over the world from Egypt, Germany, England, Canada and all around the United States. I’m an actor and have had roles in Stephen King’s “Castle Rock” and a starring role in Shane Robitaille’s “Snapshots of a Teenage Diplomat.”

Reminder Publications: What made you decide that you wanted to be an author, what drove you to put pen to paper?

Londraville: I have always tried to find different avenues to help people. I was in education for 20 years and I’m proud of the impact that I had on helping youth. I always try to teach people to believe that someone cares about them and everything happens for a reason. I strongly believe we are all in this together and connection to one another is so important for people to feel that they are worthy and a part of something. This book is my way of saying you’re not in this world alone, I have been there and that makes people want to listen and believe that they can get clarity in their own lives.

Reminder Publications: How would you describe your book to someone who’s picking it up for the first time?

Londraville: So many people grow up believing that there’s no way to escape their past, and that their past will dictate their future. There are plenty of people who believe that, “no one ever really changes,” too. Separately or together, these are powerful but discouraging beliefs that have been passed from one generation to another for a very long time. It’s time to put them to rest. I wrote this book so you would have a way to start de-cluttering your mind of all those ‘less than” thoughts and beliefs that were never really yours to begin with.

Reminder Publications: What was your inspiration?

Londraville: My inspiration is my grandmother, my daughters and my entire family. I believe that the best thank you that you can give someone is to help others pay it forward. My inspiration is to leave this world some day knowing I made someone’s life better.

Reminder Publications: How long was the process of when you first came up with the idea for “Your Path To Clarity” until publication?

Londraville: I like to speak into a recorder and just free write my thoughts down. That’s how I write. I was always so insecure about writing because I was worried about punctuation and grammar and then I found out you can get an editor to help with that. This book took about five years to write but that’s because I love to spend time with my family so I would put it down for a few months, then go back to it.

Reminder Publications: What would you say your favorite and perhaps least favorite part about writing the book was?

Londraville: My least favorite part was finding time to put it all together. My favorite part of writing the book is that I get excited to make a difference in someone’s life. I imagine someone reading it and saying to themselves, “That’s me, I didn’t think anyone else was going through all this. Maybe I will be all right and I can be better for my family and others around me. Maybe what I have felt and gone through was for a reason and I’m not going to be a victim but instead help others.” That motivates me.
