Grant to support Central Cultural District

Ward Caswell, president of the Beveridge Family Foundation, presented Morgan Drewniany, executive director of the Springfield Central Cultural District, with a grant of $25,000 that will help create a database of local and regional artists that will focus on minority artists, as well as those who work at home.

Drewniany explained the database will provide opportunities for artists and will expand the economic impact the arts has in Springfield. The grant will also alow the district to hire a grant writer.

This grant was the first from the Beveridge Family Foundation and Caswell said Drewniany’s leadership and vision impressed the Foundation.

Drewniany also told Reminder Publications the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts that will be used to increase internal capacity of the organization.
