SPRINGFIELD –  Junior Achievement of Western Massachusetts (JAWM) will be hosting its 23rd Annual Golf Tournament on June 4.

The event will take place at the Crumpin-Fox Club, located at 87 Parmenter Road in Bernardston. All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting JAWM programming and future events.

In addition to a round of golf, attendees will be able to participate in an auction and raffle and enjoy both breakfast and lunch on the course.

According to a press release, “Businesses can sponsor the tournament and will receive a prize package valued at over $200. The package includes a $100 gift card to the pro shop, buy two/get two passes for Crumpin-Fox or Fox Hopyard Golf Club in Connecticut good through 2022 season, and other gifts such as Yankee Candle items. If they prefer, sponsors can opt to receive a voucher for their foursome valid through the 2022 season.”

Al Kasper, president and CEO of Savage Arms, and chair of this year’s golf tournament, encouraged local businesses to participate.

“The venue is great, the food is fabulous and the takeaway for each participant is probably the best of any tournament in the area. It’s something that’s got real value to any business that chooses to participate,” he said.

According to Kasper, JAWM is still looking for six to eight more teams of four to register for the event. Those interested can register on their website at https://www.jawm.org/annual-golf-tournament/, in person or by calling 747-7670. Registration will be open until June 3.

“We have openings, so typically you can do it right up to the day before,” said Kasper.

The cost to register varies based on the type of sponsorship chosen. Companies can choose a sponsorship anywhere from $100 up through over $1,000.

Businesses who are unable to attend the event but are still looking to support JAWM are also able to donate auction items.

According to Kasper, some donations so far include a week trip to Cape Cod, fine wines, prepared gift baskets, coupons for massages and more.

Kasper said that he is looking forward to seeing old friends in-person at the event and also supporting a great cause.

“Junior Achievement, like all charities, suffered a great deal over the past year because of all of the fundraising activities and all of the things that were kind of built on in-person activities,” he said. “Junior Achievement is kind of a passion of mine personally, so I’m glad that this is happening and I hope that we get a lot of participation.”
