LUDLOW – Over the summer Reminder Publishing Assistant Editor Jordan Houston and I took a tour to several local ice cream shops in search of the best unique ice cream. One of them was Randall’s Farm in Ludlow. Jordan had never been to Randall’s before – instantly she was hooked. We found ourselves wondering around the store for food that we didn’t need and we admired the gorgeous flowers that were on display in the greenhouse.

On Dec. 14 Jordan and I went into work and realized that neither of us had packed a lunch that day. We decided that we would both go to Randall’s for a sandwich and review them over the next two weeks.

Similar to our first Randall’s experience together, Jordan and I meandered around the store admiring the holiday decorations, festive flowers and busy workers and customers.

When we finally made it up to the deli counter we placed our orders. My sandwich of choice was the #2, also known as “Karen’s Favorite.” The sandwich consists of a generous amount of smoked turkey, Monterey jack cheese, cucumber spread, romaine and tomato. It was served on a Kaiser roll, however there were other bread choices available including white, wheat, pumpernickel and more.

The service was speedy and the quality of sandwich was fantastic. I was hesitant about the cucumber spread, but I have to say, it was a delicious alternative to mayonnaise. It was light and not overpowering. I was impressed!

Though we weren’t able to enjoy our sandwiches at the store, there is a seating area where many people congregated and enjoyed their lunches.

I look forward to my next trip out to Randall’s for one of their delicious sandwiches. Randall’s is located at 631 Center St. in Ludlow. To reach the business over the phone, call 589–7071.
