Valley Music Showcase moves to New City Brewery

EASTHAMPTON – After completing a very rewarding and successful first season The Valley Music Showcase (formerly the Valley Talent Showcase) has entered into a working relationship with New City Brewery in Easthampton to host the next season of Valley Music Showcase events.

Kyle Holmstead of Laudable Productions, who has recently been producing live music shows at New City Brewery and during the summer at nearby Mill Pond Park, will be helping to make these events a great success.

Mark Sherry, the Showcase’s producer, said, “We’re excited about the new season and look forward to working with the folks at New City Brewery.”

The Valley Music Showcase continues in its two-fold mission: to present the very best of creative musical talent in the Pioneer Valley/Springfield/Hartford (“Learning Corridor”) area; and to help provide assistance to new and emerging musical artists in moving their careers ahead in the music industry.

At each event, or “mini’festival,” five bands, solo acts, or duos, compete for several hundred dollars of gift certificates and cash prizes from various local sponsoring businesses.

Celebrity judges each month include well known musicians, elected officials (mayors, state senators and representatives) and other well-known business/community members.

The first season was highlighted with the presentation of the year’s Grand Prize to the Springfield-based band “Malado”, who received 20 hours free studio recording time at Northfire Studios and a featured gig on Sept, 24 at the Big E in West Springfield.

The Showcases will now be bi-monthly, with the first one scheduled for Jan. 20, 2017. The events are still “all ages,” and adults over 21 will have the opportunity to sample all of New City Brewery's great tasting brews. New City Brewery is located on the rear side of the Mill 180 Building, at 180 Pleasant St. in Easthampton. The entrance is next to the American Legion building.
