West Springfield Boys and Girls Club hosts Holiday Tour of Homes

West Springfield families will open their holiday-decorated homes on Dec. 2 to raise funds for the Boys & Girls Club.

WEST SPRINGFIELD – On Dec. 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Boys and Girls Club of West Springfield will be holding their 21st Holiday Tour of Homes. This fun, seasonal event helps to raise funds to support valuable programs, opening doors to brighter futures for youth and families throughout our community and beyond.

This year, Kelley and Katzer Real Estate will once again be the Major Event Sponsor for this year’s tour. “Joe Kelley and I are so proud to be the lead sponsor again for this year’s Tour of Homes event, helping to support the Boys & Girls Club and the great work that they do. We are honored to have this opportunity to continue to partner with the Club, supporting their efforts in providing Great Futures for local youth and families,” said Christine Katzer, co-owner of Kelley and Katzer Real Estate.

In addition, the club would also like to recognize this year’s Gold Level sponsors, TD Bank, N.A., PeoplesBank, Sullivan Paper Company, Westfield Bank & Chicopee Savings Bank Charitable Foundation, as well as this year’s Silver Level sponsors, Polish National Credit Union & Farmington Bank. A big thank you goes out to all the ad book sponsors that help to make this event a continued success.

This year, there will be several wonderful homes on the tour all decorated in holiday style for tour-goers to enjoy. New this year, the Club is thrilled to collaborate with both the Storrowton Village Museum & the CHD Cancer House of Hope, whose homes will also be on this year’s tour. Floral arrangements and decorative accents for the homes are being generously donated by Durocher Florist, The Flower Stop, Floral Concepts by Tom, Flowers by Webster & Western Growers.

Tickets for the event are just $20 each and can be purchased in advance in West Springfield at Durocher Florist, Flowers by Webster, Partners at the Cup, West Springfield Federal Credit Union and Sorrento Pizza; in Agawam at Cooper’s and Floral Concepts by Tom, and in Feeding Hills at Partners Restaurant. Tickets will also be available at the Pilgrim Candle Company in Westfield and we will have their candles available for sale at each of the homes on Dec. 2. Tickets can also be purchased at each of the homes on Dec. 2 only.

During the tour, be sure to drop by the Springfield Country Club between 11a.m - 2 p.m. for a buffet lunch, which in.cludes soup, salad, a couple of main course options to choose from, as well as assorted desserts with tea and coffee. The cost of the lunch is $15 per person and includes tax and gratuity.

Tour of Homes Committee Co-Chairs, Mary Anne Flaherty & Tina Wood said, “This event really provides a wonderful opportunity to get together with family and friends each year, kicking off the holiday season, while supporting a great cause at the same time. We traditionally see over 700 people during the course of the day and it’s always great to see all the smiling faces of tour-goers as they enjoy each home.”

In the past year alone, the Boys & Girls Club of West Springfield has been hard at work, increasing program enrollments and offering expanded programs that continue to make a positive difference to an even greater number of youth and families throughout our community and beyond. Currently, the Club offers before and after school programs at four elementary schools, an after school program at the middle school, as well as before and after school programs directly at the club, providing engaging and supportive programs to over 230 kids each school day.

In addition, the club also provides Vacation, Early School Dismissal and Summer Day Camp programs through the year, giving youth and families a positive alternative during out of school time, helping to serve an additional 250 youth.
