SPRINGFIELD – Mercy Medical Center is pleased to announce completion of a significant project to expand, renovate and relocate the Endoscopy Suite. The new clinical space is designed to improve the delivery of patient services by providing additional privacy and a more comfortable care environment.

An open house for the new Endoscopy Suite at Mercy Medical Center is set for May 2, 2 to 4 p.m. The event will be held in Suite 301 in the Physicians Office Building at 299 Carew St. Tours of the Endoscopy Suite will be available and clinical staff will be on hand to answer questions.  Refreshments will also be served.

“The spacious and bright design of the suite reflects our concern for patient comfort and care, and meets the rigorous quality standards set by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health,” said Ruth Vanderleeden, RN, nurse manager, Endoscopy Department, Mercy Medical Center. “We appreciate the sensitive nature of gastrointestinal illness and understand the necessity to provide our services in an environment which emphasizes privacy and confidentiality.”

Patients are able to register upon arrival at the Endoscopy Suite and family members are welcome to stay during the admission and recovery portions of the patient's appointment.  The Endoscopy Suite has also been expanded from three procedure rooms to five procedure rooms.
