SPRINGFIELD – State Sen. Eric Lesser will be bringing the third annual edition of “Thrive After 55” to the Springfield College Field House on June 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lesser noted that with each succeeding year the free event has required moving to a larger venue.

Lesser said the event for senior citizens is designed to help them with “this exciting phase of their life with new opportunities.”

The experts assembled at the event offer answers to the many questions and challenges seniors have, he added to Reminder Publishing.

He views the event as offering “one-stop shopping” for seniors.

The free event will feature 76 exhibitors that run the gamut from the Alzheimer’s Association of Massachusetts to the Gove Law Office LLC to A Better Life Whole Foods and the City of Springfield Elder Affairs.

“It gives people the chance to get their questions answered,” he added.

Numerous speakers will also be featured. Lesser said that Sheila Maghalese of Heart Song Yoga, Todd Rather from Bacon Wilson, Cambridge Credit Counseling and Nicole Masler of Pyramid Nutrition Services would all make presentations.

Lesser also offers a free lunch for attendees who register in advance.

The event is “very festive and very fun,” Lesser added. There is free coffee service during the event and “hundreds of raffle prizes” will be given away.

Although there will be free parking near the Field House, Lesser noted there will also be shuttle buses available from other lots.

“People stay all day,” he added.

In order to have an adequate number of lunches, Lesser is asking attendees to pre-register by either going online to www.senatorlesser.com/thrive or by calling 526-6501.
