SPRINGFIELD – The Boston Red Sox hosted their annual Winter Weekend in downtown Springfield on Jan. 20 and 21. The action was split between the MassMutual Center and MGM Casino. Red Sox alumni, coaches and current players participated in discussion panels and conducted meet and greets with fans. A Fan Festival section in the MassMutual Center played host to an enclsoure from the Forest Park Zoo replete with goats, roosters and other animals, and myriad activites were available to children, such as pickup baseball games, batting and pitching cages and sprint lanes.
