AGAWAM – The Peer Leadership Club at Agawam High School is currently seeking donations for their upcoming hot chocolate fundraiser. Monthly, students work together under the direction of Agawam High School teacher Adriana Gallo-Grimaldi to conduct fundraisers to raise money for organizations and inter-club scholarships.

The Peer Leadership Club is in need of items including 400 hot chocolate packets, 25 cans of whipped cream, 400 mini candy canes and 10 bags of mini marshmallows.

Instilling in youth the importance of community and giving back is important, and the Peer Leadership Club is doing just that. In December, the club will be focusing on raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project. The Peer Leadership Club will be selling hot chocolate during lunch period to their classmates.

Mackenzie Ritchie, a student at Agawam High School, explained that taking part in Peer Leadership Club and the fundraisers they host is important to her.

“I enjoy being in the club because we are helping out people in our community. By doing the monthly fundraisers, we get to raise money for student scholarships and other organizations,” Ritchie said. Led by Gallo-Grimaldi, the Peer Leadership Club helps teach students the importance of community and building a better future for themselves and the world. Ritchie shared, “It really is a great opportunity. Mrs. Gallo-Grimaldi shows us prime examples of leadership that will help us later on in life.”

To donate products to the upcoming hot chocolate fundraiser, please contact Agawam High School. Items can be dropped off at the main office of the school.
