FEEDING HILLS – On Dec. 22, Box Paper Scissors owner Bryant Whitsett opened the doors of his new business to the public for the first time. A sign now hangs over the storefront located at 1325 Springfield St. in Feeding Hills, displaying a vibrant blue and yellow box logo. Two glowing neon signs reading, “Notary” and “Open” illuminate the windows. While one of the signs reads, “Copy, Ship and Fax,” Box Paper Scissors offers a lengthy list of services.

For Whitsett, he shared that opening the new shop helped him to realize a goal of helping the business community in Western Massachusetts. “I was looking for a business opportunity, and this was the most affordable and practical. We offer a wide range of services that will help residential businesses.” Whitsett said.

Whitsett sees Box Paper Scissors as one-stop shopping. As he describes the business on its Facebook page, Box Paper Scissors is “a one-stop shop for dozens of business products and services that will allow you to do what you’re good at while we take care of the ‘other stuff’ you need to succeed.”

One major offering at Box Paper Scissors is postal services. Customers have the ability to rent a mailbox on the property. For a modern approach, digital mailboxes are also available for rental. If a customer rents this service, they will have the ability via an online application to scan the envelope to view the sender, open and scan contents to be read, forward mail and packages, shred mail, deposit checks and set up a local phone number and voicemail. The digital mailbox can be accessed internationally from a computer, smart phone or tablet.

Box Paper Scissors has a package drop-off service, shipping and packing and sells office supplies necessary to prepare a package for mailing. If a customer is struggling to find a box that will fit the item they are mailing, the staff at Box Paper Scissors is trained to build custom boxes.

In addition, Box Paper Scissors prints banners, black and white copies, business cards, full color copies, greeting cards, large format prints, luggage tags, passport photos and posters.

Box Paper Scissors also offers a range of other business services including computer rentals, conference room rental, desktop publishing, email notifications, faxing, internet access, key duplications, laminating, binding, scanning, shredding and video tape to DVD transfer. Whitsett is also a notary who is qualified to notarize legal documents. Whitsett shared, “We do a little bit of everything.”

Whitsett said he is happy to be a part of the retail business in Feeding Hills. “I like providing the type of service I expect when I shop. I also like owning and providing so many different services. It’s kind of unique in this area.” Whitsett shared.

Currently, Whitsett’s niece Delaney Tanzer works alongside Whitsett. As the business grows, Whitsett told Reminder Publishing, “I would like to expand and have more of my family members manage and operate the business.”

Although Box Paper Scissors has been serving Feeding Hills since Dec. 22, the shop will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening on Jan. 17 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Box Paper Scissors will serve refreshments and speak with guests about the business. “We’ll be demonstrating how some of the printing services work. The mayor and members of the Chamber of Commerce will be stopping by.” he said.
