AGAWAM – The owners of Brew Practitioners have released the first three episodes of their podcast, “Brew Practitioners. A podcast of beer, business, and BS.”

Married couple and co-hosts Tanzania Cannon-Eckerle and Joe Eckerle will discuss the beer business, owning a brewery and much more.

Eckerle and Cannon-Eckerle have been in the brewery business for six years. The couple told Reminder Publishing that originally their sole topic was about the brewery, but as they started to talk, it went into the business aspect of things, and eventually, they started just to talk.

"Both of us are very passionate about education, our community, and building up our community so we thought we would talk to one of the local workers to see what they are doing and how they got to do what they are doing,” said Cannon-Eckerle.

She added that they wanted to talk about the brewery business but at the same time pay homage to their community by talking to small business owners to give them a platform to get their name out there.

“One of the things that I believe and in my opinion that has happened during COVID is that it is quite evident that the micro businesses have really kind of been pushed to the side and we talk all the time, about what we can do about that,” she said.

Starting the podcast was Eckerle’s idea. He shared that his wife was not a big podcast person previous to this, but he frequently listens to them. He said that they have a podcast’s personalities and thought to himself it was something they should do.

The couple agreed to start one and had the necessary equipment delivered a few days after.

Although they both have full-time jobs, they shared that they are busybodies and like to fill up every hour of their day.

“We are doing this for fun. If people do not like it, no problem. If people like it, that is great, and we will keep rolling. This is kind of just something to do,” he said.

Eckerle said working together on a podcast feels normal. He said it is like a typical day at the dinner table, except they are wearing headphones and speaking into a microphone.

Cannon-Eckerle shared that their family can be loud and passionate when they are having conversations, and no matter who is at their dinner table, they always get on to a topic that ends up being debated so she thinks it is normal for them to go back and forth.

“He is my best friend, and we have been best friends for almost 30 years. We are good enough friends to have an easy conversation but different enough in our perception to be able to key out some of the aspects of any topic from different perceptions,” she said.

Cannon-Eckerle and Eckerle will release podcasts weekly.

Their podcast is on Spotify and they are currently waiting for approval from Apple.
