FEEDING HILLS – A local group known as KSH Vendor Events will be hosting “Help the Animals Craft and Vendor Event” to raise money for Whip City Animal Farm and Sanctuary.

On July 31, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the community is encouraged to visit St. David’s Church, located at 699 Springfield St., Feeding Hills. Here, local entrepreneurs will be gathered, consisting of crafters selling sea glass, wreaths, dream catchers and more.

KSH Vendor Events member Kelly Horton is the creator of this event. She explained that KSH Vendor Events consists of a small group of friends – all working to help nonprofits. As a group, they researched 501(c)(3) nonprofits in Massachusetts and stumbled upon Whip City Farm.

Whip City Farm is located at 232 Montgomery Road in Westfield. According to their Facebook page, Whip City Farm “provides a forever home for animals who are unwanted, neglected or abused.” From goats, horses, sheep and more, Whip City has a variety of animals for visitors to come and see.

Horton said they took a vote and unanimously, this nonprofit organization was approved for assistance by the group.

Horton contacted Whip City Farm asking if they would like to be a part of this event. Unquestionably, she claimed they were more than happy to.

With this event, Horton said, “There are so many different things to approach.”

In addition to the local crafters, Horton’s dad will be DJing the event. Lunch will be offered at St. David’s Church for all attendees. Although there is no admission to the event, people will have to pay for food if they so choose to indulge. There will also be multiple raffles and even a “Magic Man” for the children.

All of the raffle and beneficiary money   go toward Whip City Farm. St. David’s Church will also receive a portion of the money. “They deserve it. They do a lot for the town,” said Horton. This is the second event that KSH will put on in 2021. Last year, they hosted two events during the pandemic. According to Horton, their events followed all COVID-19 protocols and the Board of Health assisted in making sure the events went smoothly. KSH will be hosting two more events this Fall, scheduled to take place on Oct. 9 and Nov. 13 at St. David’s Church and the Polish American Club, respectively.

“I hope people will come out and support local vendors,” said Horton.
