Local talents’ work featured at 10th Annual Juried Photography Show

AGAWAM – The 10th Open Juried Photography Show is on display at the Agawam Public Library.

The photos have been on display since Feb. 3 and will continue to be displayed until Feb. 28. The Friends of the Agawam Library hosts the show each year, which included a reception and awards presentation on Feb. 21.

Residents from across the Pioneer Valley and parts of Connecticut submitted photography in four different categories: creative, nature, photojournalism and pictorial.

Winners in each category are as follows:

  • “Skipper on Timothy” by John McGarry of Simsbury, CT won first place in the nature category.
  • “The Bread Baker of Baku?(Azerbaijan)” by Amy S. Dane of Longmeadow won first place in the photojournalism category.
  • “Outward Bound” by Fred LeBlanc of South Hadley won first place in the pictorial category.
  • “Gone With the Wind” by Barbara Krawczyk of Westfield won first place in the creative category.
  • “Water’s Edge” by Sylvia Pyzocha of Palmer received the Best in Show award.
