CHICOPEE–Four murals were formally introduced to the public on Set. 26 in downtown Chicopee with an art walk. The murals were sponsored by the Chicopee Cultural Council and supervised by artist and chair of the council Johnny Miranda Alomar. The first mural on the side of the Fruit Fair reads, “The only way to survive is by taking care of one another.” There is a depiction of City Hall by Christina Bryden on the wall at Cabot Liquor Store on Exchange Street and next to it a depiction of the USS Chicopee by artist Leslie Saree. Around the corner on the side of 66 Cabot Street is a Black Lives Matter mural.

The Council’s next event is a fall festival that will be broadcast on ChicopeeTV on Oct. 24 from noon to 4 p.m. and on Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The two broadcasts will feature art, music story reading, and tutorials from city businesses.
