EAST LONGMEADOW – Richard Freccero, a longtime East Longmeadow resident, is seeking re-election to the School Committee on June 6.

Over the course of 23 years, Freccero has worked as a teacher, coach, and East Longmeadow High School principal.  Currently, Freccero is an adjunct AIC Education professor as well as a six-year School Committee member.

His campaign position states, “Both his dedicated education and community experience provides him with the ability to make informed decisions.”

According to information provided by his campaign chairperson, Freccero has two priority goals that highlight his campaign, one of the goals being the importance of student achievement.

“All students deserve the maximum opportunity for success, it is essential that the proper learning environment supports the development of the “well-rounded” student,” Freccero told Reminder Publications.

Additionally, Freccero believes that fiscal responsibility is important and goes hand-in-hand with student success.  With several years under his belt of developing and participating in educational budgeting, Freccero thinks it is key to ensure that balance between the community is well maintained.

Aside from his current professor role, Freccero is an Emergency Room Patient Advocate at Baystate Medical Center, UNICO President, and Knights of Columbus Treasurer.
