EAST?LONGMEADOW – A black Diamond Back bicycle was stolen from the Resident House on Mapleshade Avenue last week, and grandfather Angelo Teixeira is asking the perpetrator to return the bike to his grandson.

Teixeira’s grandson does not have his license and uses the bike as a means of transportation as well as pleasure.

“It’s a pathetic thing, here’s a young man who depends on it [the bike] and enjoys it,” Teixeira said.

Teixeira insists that he’s not only concerned for his grandson, but also the thief.  If the bike is returned, Teixeira said there would be no questions asked.

“My concern is for the thief too, imagine having to live with yourself knowing you’re a thief, they’re going to have to live with that,” Teixeira said.  “If the bike is returned, that’s not going to be held against them.”

Teixeira asks for the bike to be returned to the Resident House or to his home at 79 Hanward Hill.
