EAST LONGMEADOW – Are you a fan of popular ghost–hunting shows on television, or simply a fan of ghosts themselves? Have you ever wanted to go on your own ghost hunting journey? If you answered yes – you could have the opportunity to do just that, as the Norcross House is being investigated by Agawam Paranormal in the coming months, and they’re inviting four citizens in on the experience.

Norcross House Board Member Donna Martinez told Reminder Publishing that although no current board member has had any experiences in the house, they wondered if there was a spirit present in the home, so they reached out to Agawam Paranormal to see if they would be interested in doing an investigation.

“A few years ago a medium did an event at the Norcross House, and during her program, she claimed that there was a gentleman who was a member of the Norcross family present in the parlor,” Martinez said. She continued to explain that Agawam Paranormal has conducted over 250 investigations over the past 12 years, and that the group does not accept payment of any kind for their investigations.

People who make a $5 donation to the Norcross House will be entered into a drawing for the two upcoming investigations. One investigation will take place on Aug. 3 at 7 p.m. and ending around 12:30 or 1 a.m. The second investigation will take place on Sept. 28. Two names will be drawn from the pool of donors. Each of the individuals who are selected will be able to bring one family member or friend with them to their designated investigation date. After the investigation, there will be a public reveal of the investigations findings.

“The public reveal will consist of a presentation of the history of the house, and then they will talk about how the investigation was conducted, and what they found during the investigation, including any audio or video evidence,” Martinez explained.

While Martinez hasn’t personally experienced any hauntings or paranormal related activity at the Norcross House first–hand, she did state that they have learned that James Franklin Norcross passed away in the home in 1926, and that his funeral was also held there.

“Perhaps that was the gentleman that the medium claimed was in the parlor,” she explained.

The Norcross House is located at 89 Maple St. in East Longmeadow. For those interested in donating, call Martinez at 525-1122 or email Martinez at dlmartinez@charter.net.
