EAST LONGMEADOW – Hailing from Brighton, East Sussex, England, FA Level Two licensed soccer coach, equivalent to a USSF C license in the U.S., Neil Connor will be coaching soccer in East Longmeadow, and is in need of a host family for the fall season.

Connor will be coaching Pre-K players in the East Longmeadow Soccer Heroes program and the U9-U14 travel teams at the East Longmeadow Soccer Association. The East Longmeadow recreation department is assisting Connor in his search. For eight weeks, starting on Sept. 6, Connor is in need of a host family. With that being said, he would be able to move between two homes, each spanning a four-week period.

The responsibilities of a host family, according to Robert Lamb are to, “Simply provide a bed (their own bedroom), shower and laundry facilities and have the coach join them for the occasional evening meal.” He added that other than that, Connor has his own vehicle and is independent.

“[He’s] very respectful and will follow the family rules of the house,” Lamb added.

Connor began coaching in the United States for the first time in the spring season, living with a host family in Simsbury, CT. Benefits of hosting Connor include a free, weekly private one-on-one training with Connor and free registration for a Soccer XS soccer camp or clinic in the future.

Connor’s experience includes multiple professional coaching positions at grassroots and the youth level in England and Asia over the past 20 years.

For information on how to become a host family for Connor, call Lamb at 860-573-2022 or email him at rlamb@soccerxs.com.
