LONGMEADOW – The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has been entertaining children and adults alike annually since 1924 with their giant balloons, performers and musical acts. This year, Longmeadow residents will have the pleasure of seeing a familiar face on one of the Macy’s floats.

On Nov. 2, 15–year–old singer–songwriter, winner of Season 14 of “The Voice,” and Longmeadow resident Brynn Cartelli announced that she will be performing in the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City on Nov. 22.

“I am SO excited to announce that I will be a part of the Macy’s parade this year!” Cartelli posted to her Instagram.

In the spring, Cartelli sang for millions across the United States on the famed singing competition show, “The Voice.” After weeks of beating out the competition, Cartelli was voted by America as the youngest winner of “The Voice” to date.

Cartelli was a member of coach Kelly Clarkson’s team, and has since announced that she will be going on tour with Clarkson and country singer Kelsea Ballerini on the 2019 Meaning of Life Tour.

For those who may be looking to attend the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in person, it will begin at the corner of 77th Street and Central Park West. It will then travel south to Columbus Circle, where it will turn east onto Central Park South before turning onto 6th Avenue. The parade then continues south until it makes its final turn reaching Macy’s Herald Square. According to the Macy’s website, the best views of the parade can be found on Central Park West.

The 92nd Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade will air on NBC at 9 a.m. and ends at 12 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22. In addition, the parade can be streamed online through NBC Live or the NBC app.
