LONGMEADOW – Gift-ology is back at the Longmeadow Shops from October 2020 to January 2021, and is located at the space formerly occupied by Jos. A. Bank.

“We were very sad to close after 10 years at our original location, but now retail is changing so we were given the opportunity for this space to come back,” said owner Tiffany Hannoush. “We took it as a chance to change the concept of what Gift-ology is and make it a different shopping experience. We love being here and we missed it.”

Gift-ology is a gift shop that offers unique merchandises. They have over 300 vendors to choose from in every category such as UNOde50 jewelry, the Alex and Ani line of bracelets, Homesick Candles, Katie Loxton, Ivory Ella and Barefoot Dreams.

“We try to really focus on customer service,” Hannoush replied. “We're focusing on the person that’s walking in that doesn’ necessarily know what they’re looking for in a gift. Whether it’s a birthday gift, wedding gift, first communion or new baby we have a little bit of everything within our store.”

She continued, “There are different sections in what you’re looking for. Our job is to find you the perfect gift set aside from any other place that’s like it. There’s no other local shop in Longmeadow that has the variety we offer.”

Hannoush founded Gift-ology in 2007 after working at her family company, Hannoush Jewelers. The first Gift-ology store was at the Eastfield Mall in Springfield. Then they opened a location in Buffalo, NY, and in 2009 came to the Longmeadow Shops. After 10 years at the Shops, they closed the original store when their lease expired. It was a decision made due to traffic in the store being down and Hannoush’s personal health reasons.

After that, Gift-ology had a pop-up shop in Springfield with their home office in downtown Springfield on Main Street for a year, but Hannoush said there were no other retails down in that area.

Luckily, an opportunity presented when the owners of the Longmeadow Shops called. They had some retail space available and asked if Hannoush would ever consider coming back with Gift-ology.

When the shops owner presented the idea of Gift-ology returning, Hannoush said, “I knew it was an opportunity to take what we had learned worked well over the years and expand our offerings in the new space. Focusing on supporting small business, especially during the current times has become an inspiration for us.”

She went on to say, “I didn’t want to create it just to be a pop-up location. I wanted it to feel like to our customer as a permanent store that’s here to stay and really give it a 100 percent. We put so much time and effort into this location. We would love to be able to stay and bring in unique other features into the store. What we can add beside the gift aspect to incorporate other categories, so that is in the works.”

Gift-ology has added a new website, giftology.com for shopping where residents can find gifts online and have them shipped. The store is located at 724 Bliss Rd. in Longmeadow.
