LONGMEADOW – There are three new stores coming to the Longmeadow Shops this fall and holiday season. The Shot Shop Med Spa, Gift-ology and Batch Ice Cream.

"We very much appreciate the support the community has given to our tenants at the Longmeadow Shops," said Marketing Manager Melissa Pevay. "We are thrilled to bring them some new options. All of our tenants are working hard to make visiting the shops a safe experience."

The Longmeadow Shops is a nine-acre outdoor shopping center with premier retailers from J. Crew Factory to the Gap, restaurants like Max Burger and a luxury salon spa. They also have community conveniences such as CVS, Bank of America and Baystate Health Urgent Care.

It was developed in 1962 by Prestley Blake who was one of the co-founders of Friendly's Ice Cream.

The Longmeadow Shops had to say goodbye to Jos. A. Bank and Great Harvest due to hardship from COVID-19.

The Shot Shop Med Spa will be the Shops' new permanent tenant and taking the space next to Talbots, and they will be open sometime in November. Pevay explained The Shot Shop was looking for a new location and wanted to expand their business. One of the owners has a following in Longmeadow, and luckily, there was a space available to them.

"We're excited," Pevay said. "I think the community is going to love having them there."

Gift-ology and Batch Ice Cream are seasonal pop-ups coming to the Shops. This will be a “great test drive” for them, Pevay mentioned.

Gift-ology was a former tenant of the Shops for many years. They're returning

This is Batch Ice Cream's second season at the shop. They operate an ice cream truck at the Shops on Tuesday afternoons and have created a huge fan base in Western Mass.

"It's been really awesome partnering with them," Pevay responded. "It's great to see people coming down the sidewalks or getting out of their cars with their families on Tuesday afternoon especially this year."

She added, "It was something safe for families to do when there wasn't a lot of festivities going on. Definitely the community appreciated them and Batch Ice Cream appreciates the community. We can't wait to have them through the fall and winter."

Batch Ice Cream will open their first ever brick and mortar location at the Longmeadow Shops. They'll have assorted flavors of ice cream, waffle cones, hot fudge and sundaes. They'll be filling the former Great Harvest space and calling it home from mid-October through Feb. 2021.
In addition to the new stores, the Longmeadow Shops is also making accommodations for their two restaurants to continue patio seating into the late fall.

Max Burger and Posto have been hosting outdoor dining over the summer. Since they both have patios, they can now have indoor dining with restrictions.

Both restaurants are doing an enclosure around the patios to expand their indoor dining.

Pevay explained that the Shops have been installing heaters and doing the drop-down walls on the patio so they can squeeze in a few more tables and able to have outdoor dining on the patio with heaters.

"Having the pop-ups and the Shot Shop come as a permanent tenant fills a complete space at the shop," Pevay said. "These stores will add a new energy and vibrancy to the shopping plaza. It speaks for the upcoming holiday shopping season. It's great for the community, a real convenie longmeadowshops.comnce and a little treasure right here in Longmeadow."

Pevay indicated that the Longmeadow Shops has more pop-up ideas they're working on.
