PALMER – The Steaming Tender Restaurant is teaming up with Celestial Phases from Monson for a night of rejuvenation and relaxation on July 21.

Attendees will do yoga at 6 p.m. at Passenger Park - adjacent to the restaurant - and then head over to the cobblestone canopy for cocktails at 7 p.m. There will be three specialty cocktails that are included for the night, Berry Blissful, Unwind Thyme and R&R. This event is $30 per person or $50 for the purchase of two tickets.

General manager Scarlet Lamothe explained, “This is the first time we’re collaborating with Celestial Phases. We just thought it’d be a fun night to do, and this is the start of many events out there. It’s good to see livelihood out on the park and having activities out there gives it a whole different feel.”

The Steaming Tender Restaurant is located at 28 Depot St. Their menu is all-American cuisine with burgers, sandwiches, seafood, pasta and steaks. The building was designed in 1884 by famed architect Henry Hobson Richardson. Lamothe’s parents, Robin and Blake Lamothe, purchased the building in 1987. They spent 17 years restoring the building until they opened it in 2004 as the Steaming Tender Restaurant.

Celestial Phases was one of the attendees set up at Steaming Tender’s first Artisan Emporium at Passenger Park back in May. “They felt inspired and loved the vibe of the park,” Lamothe shared. “It’s very tranquil, but you also have the industrial factor of the railroads. The restaurant is so close by and we catered to all the vendors there. It was a very comfortable and fun setting that day.”

Lamothe started talking with Celestial Phases owner Donna Spear who suggested they do something out in the park. Lamothe agreed, and the two joined forces to do a night of yoga in the park.

“My hope for the event is to have a good turnout,” Lamothe responded. “People coming and enjoying the park, but the overall goal is that anyone can use the park. It’s a nice, fun green space to have a picnic, a glass of wine and enjoy the park.”

The Steaming Tender Restaurant is open on Thursdays from 4-8 p.m., Fridays from 4-9 p.m., Saturdays from 12- 9 p.m. and Sundays from 12- 7:30 p.m. To purchase tickets, call the restaurant at 283-2744. For more information, visit their website at steamingtender.com or follow them on Facebook.
